Thank you all for coming to our Get Acquainted Breakfast and for providing healthy and delicious fruit. We hope you all enjoyed it and got a chance to meet your child’s friends and families. It was a really fun morning!!
The children looked so precious in their costumes! Thank you to all the parents who provided the delicious treats, goody bags, and pumpkins for our party! Some of our learning this month included: what’s inside a pumpkin, how pumpkins grow, how to make a jack-o-lantern, spider facts, etc. We sharpened our Math skills by graphing pumpkin seeds, counting and number recognition using leaves, pumpkins and spiders, magic writing, matching games, and our favorite, mystery box. We hope you have enjoyed all the classroom books that have been circulating.
Fall will be a very busy time at Tiny Tots as well! The Pre-K class will be having a visit from Sherry Sender from the NRT. Sherry will be doing a program on Barnyard Buddies during our Farm week and will be bringing a special barnyard friend along with her. This is the first program in our 3 Program Series for the Pre-K class. The Pre-K class will also be discussing Harvesting and will be do some cooking as well, all leading up to Thanksgiving. On Wednesday, November 27th, school will end at 1:00.
The younger classes will be discussing fall changes, Down on the Farm and Harvesting. They will be doing some cooking as well. They will be going on a Nature Walk in the pine groves too. This month’s color: yellow and shape: triangle. It’s been great seeing the children in their colors of the month! Finally, Thanksgiving will end our month!
The children will be drawing names of a classmate to exchange a gift with during our Holiday Party in December. The gift should cost from $5 to $8 and be brought to school on the day of the party, wrapped, with the recipient’s name on it. Holiday Parties and Winter Show: Dec. 18th and 19th. Our program will begin at 9:15 and school will end at 1:00 on those days. Details to follow. School will resume on Jan 2nd after our winter break.
Don’t forget to take advantage of our Extended-day program (MWF, until 2:30) and the Lunch Bunch program (T/TH until 1:00). Extended Day and Lunch Bunch is $10 per stay, please pay on the day of the stay.
Registration for children and their siblings, for the next school year, will begin on December 1st. You must register your child each year to reserve a spot for September. It will be a tight year as we have full enrollment in all classes! Registration will be based on a first come basis. A $75.00 registration fee is required, (we will hold the deposit until after the holidays). The registration fee will secure that your child is registered for the upcoming school year. On January 2nd, open registration will begin for the public. Please pass the word on to your friends!
Please continue to label all outerwear as it is easier for us to help your child identify new clothing. The three day class is encouraged to be able to put on their own jackets and hats, as well as learning how to zipper and button to promote independence and it is an important step in getting ready for kindergarten. Also, be sure to bundle-up as we will continue to go out every day, weather permitting, hats, mittens, warm jackets.
