HALLOWEEN PARTIES

Posted by Joan Sullivan on October 6, 2020 at 11:15 AM Comments comments (0)

Our Halloween Parties will be held on Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th! Children may wear their costumes to school with the exception of accessories such as wands, swords, etc. This will minimize the amount of things to keep track of and prevent them from getting left behind or going missing. The children can keep their costumes on for the day! If you think your child would want to change out of their costume, please provide a change of clothes in their backpacks.

We will be having a little parade amongst the classrooms and be going “trick or treating” in our classes at snacktime. Please provide one treat for our treat bags, making sure you provide 10 for your child’s class. The children will be passing out their treats to their friends and your child will come home with a Halloween treat bag! Tiny Tots will provide the party supplies of cupcakes, juice, and Smartfood. If your child has an allergy, please provide a cupcake that is free of your child’s allergen.

We will take several pictures to share with you! We will be playing games, fun Halloween music, carving a pumpkin, and reading our favorite books. It will certainly be a super fun day!!

Thank you all for your cooperation

OCTOBER 2020

It has been a fantastic start to the school year!! Thank you to you all for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through our new protocols and requirements. The drop off and pick up has gone relatively smoothly. Please try to stick to your allotted times (with the exceptions of those of you who have conflicting drop offs), as the teachers are helping each other out during the morning routine. The children are adjusting so well to our classrooms, and our daily routines are under way. We are looking forward to a fun month of October!! We have postponed our annual Family Breakfast and hope to revisit this special tradition in the Spring.

Lunch time is going so well. Thank you all for cooperating with our NO peanut or tree nut policy. During lunch, we do our best to encourage the children to eat their healthy lunch first and then the treat if provided. An ideal lunch would be three healthy choices, as too many choices can be confusing. Please include a drink in your child’s lunchbox, labelled if it is a water bottle.

.

Thank you also for signing up for snack through emailing your child’s teacher. Just send an email with a date you would like to send in snack for the children in your child’s class. Please keep in mind healthy eating is our goal! Fruit, cheese, veggies, yogurt, crackers are always welcome! Cupcakes for birthdays or special occasions are a fun treat but we are holding off on baked goods at this time. Please remember our NO NUT policy.

We are planning to go outside every day, weather permitting, so please dress accordingly. Also, please be sure to mark all clothing with permanent marker so that we can help the children find their new jackets. We are encouraging the older children to put on, zip and button their own jackets, as this promotes independence and helps to prepare them for kindergarten. Sneakers are best for outdoor play and the gym as the sand can be sometimes damp.

The dates for the Halloween Parties are Wednesday, October 29th and Thursday, October 30th. A special letter will be sent home with details TBD.

Please keep your calendars handy so that you can keep informed of our daily activities and theme weeks! Please continue to reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions, concerns, or information. Photos of activities will be sent periodically throughout the year. There will be updates on Facebook when it comes to inclement weather or any emergency situations. Email: eastontinytotspreschool@gmail.com for any other questions.

Tuition is due on the first week of the month. You may either mail this in via your bank or hand it to Mrs. Sullivan at drop off.

NO SCHOOL: OCTOBER 12th, Columbus Day

HALLOWEEN PARTIES: OCTOBER 29th and 30th

NOVEMBER BREAK: Early dismissal Wednesday, Nov 25th, 1:00pm

Special thanks to Ms. Marissa for helping out in our 2 DAY Class during the month of September! Marissa will continue to be with us on Tuesday/Thursday during October!

Welcome to Tiny Tots! We hope you all had a fantastic summer! We have many fun activities and themes planned for our school year. We are really looking forward to a busy and exciting year! Welcome back old friends and families! We can’t wait to get to know all our new friends and families as well! Let’s get started!!

Attached is the monthly calendar so that you are aware of our activities ahead of time. Often there will be a theme day or week, so you may want to keep your calendar handy. The newsletter is also posted on our website eastontinytotspreschool.com. To begin, we will be getting to know each other and get acquainted with many fun activities. The three-day class will be discussing feelings, friendships, school rules, and getting reacquainted! The two-day classes will be getting to know each other with some fun activities and games. We will also touch upon germs and keeping our friends safe with some fun books about covering coughs, wearing masks and Pete the Cat hand washing.

We will all be celebrating apple week as we approach fall. Activities will include apple graphing, apple stamping, apple tasting and apple cooking as well as many related stories. Children can bring in one apple of any kind to share with the class, for our taste test. The three-day class will be starting off the “letter of the week” with the letter “A”!

We will be going out daily and frequently, weather permitting. We would greatly appreciate it if you could label all outerwear with your child’s name inside. This will allow us to help each child identify his or her jacket or sweatshirt when it is time to go out. This is very helpful with the amount of children we have to get ready. Also, sneakers are best for outdoor play as we are running on sand.

Snack sign-up sheets are no longer posted across from our classroom door so if you are interested in sending in snack for the class, please email your child’s teacher with date. Your child will help pass out the snack on that day. Please provide for the entire class of 10. We prefer individual bags and no home baked goods at this time. Just an important reminder: NO peanuts, peanut butter, tree nuts, or mixed nuts allowed for snack or lunch. Allergies are still being discovered, so we are a nut free school as a precaution. Also, we do have peanut and tree nut allergies this year, so extra caution must be taken. Healthy snacks such as fruit, cheese sticks, crackers, veggies, yogurt, etc. are encouraged.

Remember to follow our requirements on pick-up and drop-off.

Payments are due the first week of each month. Please remember to put your child’s name and the month that the payment is intended for on each check. This will assure that your account will be properly credited. You may hand your payment to Mrs. Sullivan to be placed in the mailbox. It is recommended that auto pay through you bank is set up for easy payment schedules.

Please send in your child’s updated medical form as soon as possible. This is a requirement by the state and is necessary for us to have in your child’s file. All medical forms must be updated yearly.

Planning ahead: We are following the Covid 19 guidelines at this time so no large gatherings are planned.

Keep updated on Facebook at Joan Sullivan, Tiny Tots Preschool. We will not post pictures of your child but may post news and information. Please tag us in any posts you make!

Tiny Tots is so lucky to have such amazing families that are sharing your little ones with us. We will do everything to make this a fun-filled and nurturing learning experience for your child. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know, either by phone 508-238-9131, 508-230-8303 (classroom), or email (eastontinytotspreschool@gmail.com.

Also, thank you to all parents/grandparents who provided the delicious food. A Special shout out to Mr. and Mrs. Leu and Uncle Paul Santoro who taught us so much about Hawaii and Italy! FEBRUARY NEWS

Posted by Joan Sullivan on February 5, 2020 at 1:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Community Helpers weeks were full of great fun and learning! The 3 Day class had an excellent visit from Sherry Sender, a specialist at the NRT Sheep Pasture. Sherry presented a program called Mad Science, to go along with our Community Helpers weeks. The teachers did many science experiments as well and even made silly puddy. During Nurse/Dr. week, we had a visit from Aaron’s mom who talked about taking care of the sick and ourselves during this cold and flu season! Alaina’s mom provided us with first aid supplies and the children really enjoyed “caring” for each other and then, caring for their pets. Fire Fighter, Police Officer day was fantastic as well, as the excitement of putting out fires, public safety, and detective work was taken quite seriously! A special visit from the Oaks Ames Librarian was greatly appreciated on Librarian day. She read several stories to the children, many about what librarians do. We ended with baking and set up our very own Dunkin Donuts station. It was amazing how many children knew exactly how to order and serve coffee and treats as well. Counting and estimating were key in running DD smoothly. Circle time and table time were great opportunities to learn all about the every day “helpers” in our community and children were very excited and eager to participate.

,

Our annual Valentine’s Day parties will be on Wednesday the 13th and Thursday the 14th. All children can bring Valentine Cards to school for their friends. Please have your child sign the back of the cards but do not put any names on the front envelopes. This will allow the children to pass out their cards on their own quickly. It is best if you send the cards in a zip lock bag marked with your child’s name on the front.

2-DAY: 20 children 3-DAY: 20 children Multi Age: 8 children (M/W and T/TH)

There will be a sign-up sheet on the doors across from the classroom with a list of items we need for our party. Please only one person’s name for each line to avoid too many treats.

Also, during the month of February, the children can bring in Kindness Hearts. These are hearts that we provide so when your child does a nice deed or act of kindness (i.e.: help clean up, help with younger siblings, shows a sign of affection), you can write it down on a heart and the children can bring them into school to share with their classmates. This is a great way to encourage your child to be especially nice during this month of love and get a pat on the back as well!

Parents in the 3-day class keep a watch out for a special letter from your child that will be arriving shortly before Valentine’s Day. They will be learning their addresses and phone numbers! Please let a teacher know which phone # is best for your child to learn.

PAJAMA DAY is always a fun day! 2-Day class, please send your children in their cozy pajamas on Thursday, February 6th. Lots of fun activities are planned for this special day! The 3-day class had a blast!

The 3 day class will be “traveling” during the end of Feb and early March. Countries will include Hawaii, Africa, Mexico, China, Italy and Ireland! If you have any experience with these countries and would like to share them with our class, please contact a teacher to plan it. We would love to have you!! Foods from the countries will tie in to our snack sign-up sheet. Again, talk to a teacher for any questions. On Feb. 26 and 27th, we will begin with a “trip” to Hawaii. Dress for the hot weather!

REGISTRATION The 3-DAY class and Multi-Day classes are FULL! Just a couple of openings left in our 2-Day class. We are so excited that so many children are returning, as well as siblings! Tuition for September is due in April to secure your child’s spot. This will be necessary this year as we already have children on our waiting list. Thank you in advance!

School Vacation week is February 17th to February 21st.

Planning Ahead: School Pictures will be March 25th and 26th ~ Details to follow.

Summer Camp for the 3-day class will be the weeks of: May 26th and June ~1st Details to follow

JANUARY 2020

We couldn’t be more proud of the great performances by the children at our Winter Shows. The children were so excited to perform for everyone! It was great to see so many wonderful families come together! Thank you also for all of the cards, gifts and goodies for our party. We greatly appreciate everything! Happy New Year to you all!

We’re excited to announce that our Pre-K class and Multi-Day class for 2020 is full! We are accepting names for our waiting list. If you are planning for your child to attend another preschool, please let us know as soon as possible! We still have openings in our 2-Day class but space is very limited. Please tell your friends before it fills!

The month of January is filled with many fun themes. One special theme is Animals in Winter, featuring the classic books by Jan Brett, “The Hat” and “The Mitten”. The 3-DAY CLASS please watch for our special friend Perky the Penguin! Perky will be going home with each student in the big class during the months of January and February (everyone will surely get a turn). Instructions on what to do with Perky will be explained. The 2-day class will be doing fun winter activities as well, including white day, Animals in Winter and Winter Wonderland. One of our favorite books, “Polar Bear, Polar Bear” is on the agenda.

Community Helpers theme is always filled with great imagination and much enthusiasm as the children try out different careers. During these weeks the 3 DAY CLASS will be having a special visit from the NRT with a class presentation called “Mad Science” on our Scientist Day. Also, if you have experience with any of these careers and would like to present something to the class, please let us know. We would love to have you!

The last week in January is sort of a mixed bag with Lego Day, Pajama Day and Patriots Fan Day for the 3-Day class. The 2-Day class will feature the color white and shape square. PJ day for the 2-Day and multi class will be in Feb.

We will be going outside all winter, weather permitting, and as long as there is no ice on our playground and it is above 35 degrees. So bundle up with hats, mittens, warm coats, and boots or warm shoes. We will continue to use our gym as well so sneakers are best for every day wear. Don’t forget to label all jackets!!

Please make sure that your child’s physical is up to date and submitted.

Please follow the policy for NO SCHOOL during inclement weather which was given out at Open House. We follow the Easton Public Schools for cancellations. If there is a delay of school in the morning, we will also have the same delay (ie: 1 hr. delays come at 10:00, etc.) In the event that there is no morning kindergarten, then there is NO morning (11:30) class and school will begin at 11:30 for children staying until 1:00 or 2:30. Please consider slippery roads and safety first. You can also check Facebook for school cancellations and updates.

The federal tax I.D. # for childcare exemption is 04-2458968.
